Asbestos Training

Asbestos Training

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 in the form of Regulation 10 has included wide-ranging requirements for asbestos training. This training is tiered in terms of content and duration and the regulations cover a wide range of groups. Importantly the training needs to be delivered by a competent person.

Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos Awareness Training is a vital requirement for employers, property owners, facilities managers, and all those responsible for Health and Safety within their organisation.

The training is available at our training facilities or at client premises, these sessions are generally half a day in duration dependant on the client’s needs. We are able to offer formalised sessions which are followed by a brief multiple-choice examination through our partners at the Royal Society of Public Health. Where necessary our Asbestos Awareness Training can be customised to include details of your organisation’s policies and procedures or more detailed requirements.

Thames Laboratories is proud to have formed a partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveys and has been providing the RICS with its asbestos training for a number of years.

Non–Licensed Asbestos Training

This builds upon the training provided at the asbestos awareness level and includes a larger element on the regulatory requirements when dealing with asbestos, along with theory relating to the handling of asbestos materials.

The course follows the guidance available including a substantive element of practical training which is based upon the activities that individuals will undertake. For this reason, this training can only be provided at our Head Office.

Courses are available for electricians, plumbers, and other building and allied trades. We are able to offer a range of additions to this training including face fit testing and equipment maintenance.

Licensed Asbestos Removal Training

This training is specifically aimed at those who work within the asbestos industry undertaking the removal of higher-risk materials.

In addition to the requirements of Regulation 10 additional training is required for those who work as asbestos surveyors and analysts, and where necessary specialist training is also required for those who may find themselves with Duty Holder responsibilities.

Thames Laboratories offers a range of training options suitable for all personnel that may come into contact with asbestos during the course of their work or who have responsibility for managing personnel that works with or may be exposed to asbestos.

If you would like any more information or advice on any training requirements please give us a ring.
