Type 3 surveys (Demolition / Refurbishment Survey)
Demolition / Refurbishment Surveys (Type 3 surveys) are carried out when a commercial building or residential property is to be demolished or when a major redevelopment is carried out.
The survey will asess the type and volume of asbestos containing materials (ACM’s). This may involve demolition work to gain access to the samples, so some damage to the fabric of a building will occur. Due to the destructive nature of the survey it is recommended that affected areas should not be occupied during the survey.
A Type 3 survey is only necessary for the part of a building that is being refurbished, so one floor may be surveyed while the others remain undisturbed.
Thames Laboratories employs highly trained, experienced specialists who are fully Accredited by UKAS to carry out Demolition / Refurbishment Surveys (Type 3 Surveys).
