Type 2 surveys
A Type 2 survey is a sampling survey i.e. samples of suspect material are taken to the laboratory for assessment. This will provide a definitive answer as to whether you have asbestos containing materials (ACMs) on a site.
Type 2 surveys are generally suitable for assessing the risk to occupants of a premises.
In a Type 2 survey the samples are only taken from accessible areas (floor tiles, boilers cladding etc) making Type 2 asbestos surveys unsuitable for premesis that will undergo major renovation or refurbishment.
Thames Laboratories employs highly trained, experienced specialists and is fully Accredited by UKAS to carry out Type 2 sampling surveys.
