Teacher's family awarded six figure asbestos compensation

Relatives of deceased teacher John Murphy have been awarded ?116,000 compensation after a three year legal battle.

Tameside Borough Council eventually admitted liability but Janis Murphy believes the case would have been resolved sooner if her brother had still been alive.

John Murphy is believed to have contracted mesothelioma by inhaling asbestos dust during renovations to the school at which he worked.
