Victims of the asbestos giant Turner and Newell have expressed their concern at the huge fees paid to the companies that administer the compensation fund.
Turner and Newell owned a number of factories in the UK but went into administration when its parent firm, US based Federal Mogul, buckled under the weight of asbestos compensation claims. However it was revealed recently that a massive £70 million will be paid to the companies that have administered the fund set aside to compensate people exposed to asbestos.
Mesothelioma sufferers who would have been able to claim compensation of up to £100,000 have now reluctantly agreed to accept a meagre 20 pence for every pound that they are entitled to. Meanwhile the £70 million in fees will be paid in full.
