Cape Asbestos fund finally agreed

As we reported back in June 2005, Cape Group - former owners of Cape Asbestos - decided to create a £40 million fund to compensate victims of asbestos-related illnesses. The Barking and Dagenham Post reports that this decision has finally been ratified, but £40 million may not be enough compensate those affected.

Cape Group has undertaken to top up the fund periodically but this pledge has been met with scepticism by some victims group.
