Fear as asbestos found in US toys

An asbestos action group, Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization, has found asbestos in toys being sold in the United States.

According to the advocacy group asbestos has been found in a number of toys including a CSI Fingerprint kit. The kit, manufactured in China, is a spin off product from the popular CSI TV franchise.

Earlier this year a number of toys manufactured in China were recalled after worries about the presence of lead.

CBS Consumer Products said in a statement they are conducting testing on the CSI Fingerprint kit.

"We've just been made aware of this issue and have asked our licensee to immediately conduct an independent test in the U.S. for asbestos. If the toy is determined to be unsafe, then we will insist that the licensee remove it from the market."
