Asbestos Identification Facilities
Thames Laboratories have had UKAS Accreditation (ISO 17025) for our in-house asbestos testing laboratory since 1987. Our fully trained staff all hold the British Occupational Hygiene Society P401 and have considerable experience in asbestos identification.
This facility means that all of our surveys and survey information are contained within the Company, we are not dependant upon third party organisations to undertake our testing.
In addition to our own internal quality-control processes we also participate in the AIMS (Asbestos in Materials Scheme) external quality audit scheme to ensure our laboratory meets the highest standards.
The importance of quality in this activity cannot be overstressed. This is the only opportunity for the correct identification of asbestos-containing materials and it is from this, that all other conclusions concerning the asbestos are made.
